No matter how much we need it, sometimes we can’t go on holiday abroad. It may be because of a lack of funds, no time, or the worldwide pandemic restrictions are limiting where you can holiday. During times like these, planning a staycation at home is a perfect choice! These 10 staycation ideas will help you live your best life even if you're on a tight budget! And best of all, they'll all fit into a weekend, a day or even a few hours, so you can string a few of our ideas together for a longer at-home vacay or take a personal day to spend it on yourself.

Play tourist in your hometown

Is there a museum you’ve always wanted to visit? Is there a restaurant you’ve never tried? Is there a tourist attraction you want to check out? Please do it! Rediscover the best parts of your hometown and explore the unknown: this may lead to unique experiences and encounters. Many of us spend our days working, running errands, or staying home. Spend a day, a weekend, or even a whole week playing tourist in your own town. Visit the museums, local attractions, or historic landmarks you'd usually only bring visitors to see and rediscover the best parts of your hometown.

Book a spa day

Two words: Spa day. While relaxing spa vacations seem to pop up all over the 'gram these days, many local spas have one-day packages that can be much more affordable. To get even more for your money, grab a few face masks, some mani-pedi supplies, and invite a friend over for an at home spa day. If this is not the best way to spend your home holiday, we don’t know what is! Enjoy a spa day and come out feeling rejuvenated with our amazing glow tips here.

Hold a yoga retreat

Recreate at least part of those lush yoga retreats in faraway locations without leaving your living room. Brew your choice of Offblak tea and throw it over ice, unroll your yoga mat in your living room, turn on some online yoga tutorials, and spend plenty of time in shavasana. If you've never done yoga before, stick to simple poses so you don't accidentally injure yourself. Go for whole body rejuvenation and get healthy while cleansing your mind and body. Day at the beach

Soaking up some nature will help balance out your well-earned couch time. If you’re fortunate enough to live near the sea, take advantage of it and spend as much time as you can at the beach. If you don’t live near a beach, book a hotel or Air bnb near a beach for a weekend getaway! Hitting the beach is one of the best staycation ideas. Even if you’re used to going to your local beach, and it’s not that big of a deal for you, you can always make it more interesting: pick up a different location, go exploring, and treat it like if you were on holiday abroad. Your holiday wouldn’t be complete without beachside walks!

Try a new exercise class

Get your blood pumping by trying out a new dance or exercise class. If you belong to a gym, sign up for one of the classes you've never tried before. If not, why not try something that stimulates your mind or something you’ve always wanted to try. It could be a dancercise class, or a Zumba class, or even a martial arts class. Whatever it is, make sure it’s new to you! We have teamed up with Olympia Fitness to give you all three home workout videos which are just fifteen minutes each and no equipment is needed. So grab yourself a tea from the fully charged range, get your caffeine boost and let’s get to work! Click to watch HIIT Workout from Home!

Have a picnic in the park

Pack your favourite foods, a blanket, your favourite Offblak teas, music and a carefree attitude and spend the day relaxing in a local park. Having a picnic in the park is not something that people usually do. So do it!

Host a film festival

If your invitation to Cannes got lost in the post, host your own film festival from your couch. Try screening a series like Harry Potter, Hunger Games, or The Avengers or pick a film category and choose films to fit. Make sure to complete your movie night with snacks, of course! Don't even think about changing out of your pj's.

Read a book

Is there a book that has been sitting on your shelf for a few weeks, months, years?! That is begging to be read, well now is the time to get lost in a good book! Sit in the garden, lay in bed, or choose a lovely cafe, and spend the day reading a book without having to worry about doing anything else.

Host a cooking night

Cooking is one of the funniest activities ever, but cooking every day can become boring. Use your staycation to learn new recipes, challenge yourself with a different type of food, have fun with ingredients you’ve never tried. Transform your kitchen into a dining destination, and invite a few friends over for a Come Dine With Me experience right in the comfort of your own home!

Take a day trip

No need to book an overnight stay. Hop in the car or on a train for a one-day getaway to somewhere nearby. Even a quick drive to a nearby town or even your own city can make a fun adventure. Don't forget to listen to one of Offblak’s playlists to hype up the ride. Listen here!
